Dental assistant
Job Description Clinical Assisting: Assist dental providers with instrument transfer, dental material delivery, and patient care procedures according to approved dental assisting standards.
Expanded Functions: Perform delegated expanded functions including the application of dental sealants and exposure of diagnostic digital radiographs.
Operatory Care: Clean and thoroughly disinfect operatories before each patient, sterilize trays and instruments, and maintain handpieces and suction equipment.
Patient Support: Review medical and dental health histories, record vital signs, manage patient appointments, and provide compassionate care to diverse patient populations.
Clinic Maintenance: Monitor supply inventories, submit order data to finance, restock clinical areas, and coordinate equipment repairs with clinic management.
Multi-Site Float: Travel and float between Virginia Garcia dental clinic locations across Washington and Yamhill counties as assigned.
part-time $33 - $33 per hour
Float differential included, with pay adjusted depending on experience.
Shift & ScheduleMonday - Friday 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM with Tuesday off, plus one Saturday a month with a negotiated weekday off.
Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Completion of a dental assisting program or one year of dental assistant experience.
Licensure: Current Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) or Expanded Functions Preventive Dental Assistant (EPDA) certificate and radiology proficiency certificate issued by the Oregon Board of Dentistry.
Other: Valid Oregon driver's license with reliable transportation and insurance.
Experience: Prior experience working in a medical or dental clinic setting.
Language: Bilingual skills in English and Spanish (written and oral).
Certification: Ability to obtain dental sealant certification within six months of hire.
